Spring Term

Spring Term begins next week

We’re looking forward to welcoming students back to Da Capo Academy as the Spring Term begins from Monday 12 January. Lessons, ensembles and rehearsals will resume as normal.

Looking ahead

There is much to look forward to in the coming months.

In February, we look ahead to the Spring into Conducting Course (15–21 February) with world-renowned conductor Robert Houlihan, welcoming both local and European musicians.

A large number of our students will be taking part in the PwC Jersey Junior Musician of the Year and PwC Jersey Young Musician of the Year competitions. Heats will take place throughout the month, with the finals returning to the Jersey Opera House later in February.

From May, rehearsals will begin for JASTO, leading into preparations for the JASTO Proms Concert on 4 July.

We are also preparing for the launch of our Saturday Strings Project, with further details to be shared soon. The inaugural term will culminate in a performance at the Town Hall on Saturday 28 March. On the same day, our Intermediate and Adult Da Capo Orchestra will also perform at the same venue, with timings to be confirmed.

We are grateful for the generous Government support we have received for our work with adult learners, and are delighted to be expanding the opportunities available in the New Year.
