Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

Policy Statement

This policy is addressed to all tutors and volunteers and applies wherever they are working with students – whether on site or during off-site activities.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment
  • Preventing impairment of children’s health or development
  • Ensuring safe and effective care
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

Training

  • All tutors and volunteers must undergo Foundation Level CP training.
  • Annual refreshers are required for continued engagement with Da Capo.
  • DSL and Principal will complete training to Level 2 or higher.

Monitoring and Review

This policy is reviewed annually by the DSL and leadership team. It reflects Jersey inter-agency safeguarding procedures and is compliant with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.
